Huff Puff Blow the House Down
© 1994 Robert Davis/Rick Washbrook
Here’s a crazy little story about three little pigs
And a big bad wolf who wanted into their digs
A house made of straw, a house made of sticks
But the best birthday party was at the house made of bricks
So c’mon little piggies, one-two-three,
Let me into your party
Chorus:
I’m gonna huff, puff, blow the house down (repeat four times)
I wanna have some fun at the best birthday party in town
Well I could see through the window everybody was there
Goldilocks and all Three Bears
Little Miss Muffet twisting on her tuffet
Little Bo Peep dancin’ with her sheep
So get ready triple pigs ‘cause I’m coming in
Doing double time on a gust of wind
Repeat Chorus twice
Those bricks proved way too tough for wolf man
But with lungs like that he should be singing with the band
The pigs opened the door and invited us in
I dig those hairs on their chinny-chin-chins
So come on Wolfie baby do your thing
Take a deep breath, everybody sing
Chorus
Scaredy Cat
© 1994 Robert Davis/Rick Washbrook
I grabbed my box
I went lookin’ for my pet
We had an afternoon appointment with the vet
Couldn’t find him anywhere
Where can that cat be?
Has my little kitty run away from me?
Chorus:
Where is that Scaredy Cat?
Where is that Scaredy Cat?
Cause the vet’s got a needle
Where are you Scaredy Cat?
I flew down the stairs and I ran outside
I think my kitty cat is trying to hide
A cat needs shots and I’m running out of time
Oh where oh where is that cat of mine?
Chorus
Well, I looked to my left and I looked to my right
And then I turned around and saw this beautiful sight
In my backyard, behind the picnic table
Guess who was playing with my car’s booster cable
I found my Scaredy Cat, I found my Scaredy Cat
And we’re off to get a needle, my little kitty, not me
Oh no, no, no, no, not me
We’ve got to get to the vet
Let’s go, Scaredy Cat
I Dream of Pizza
© 1995 Robert Davis/Rick Washbrook/Traditional
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Covered with onions and cheese
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Green peppers but no anchovies please
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Tomatoes and pepperoni
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Green olives but no anchovies please
I like to eat my pizza, but no anchovies please
I like to eat my pizza, but no anchovies please
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Covered with onions and cheese
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Green peppers but no anchovies please
I like to eat my pizza, but no anchovies please
I like to eat my pizza, but no anchovies please
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Tomatoes and pepperoni
I dream of pizza with a light brown crust
Green olives but no anchovies please
Mr. Freezie
© 1995 Robert Davis
Oh Mr. Freezie, goes down so easy
A little squeezy and you’re in juice heaven
Oh Mr. Freezie, come on and freeze me one more time
First you’re freezable, then you’re squeezable
You’re my incredible Mr. Edible
Oh Mr. Freezie, come on and freeze me one more time
Oh when it’s hot out
You’ll be sought out
To quench my unquenchable thirst
But if you’re bought out
I’ll cry my heart out
Oh Mister Freezie, I need you so
I love you once, I love you twice
You’re the ice that’s so very nice
Oh Mr. Freezie, come on and freeze me one more time
Cause when it’s hot out
You’ll be sought out
To quench my unquenchable thirst
But if you’re bought out
I’ll cry my heart out
Oh Mister Freezie, I need you so
Oh Mr. Freezie, goes down so easy
A little squeezy and you’re in juice heaven
Oh Mr. Freezie, come on and freeze me one more time
I love you once, I love you twice
You’re the ice that’s so very nice
Oh Mr. Freezie, come on and freeze me one more time
Oh Mr. Freezie, come on and freeze me one more time
There’s a Hole in Daddy’s Haircut
© 1994 Robert Davis
There’s a hole in daddy’s haircut
Something’s missing way up there
Daddy’s got a grown-up’s case of disappearing hair
There’s a hole in daddy’s haircut, but I can’t tell you why
His hair got up and left one day without even saying ‘bye
There’s a hole in daddy’s haircut, it gets bigger everyday
But it’s not the kind of hole you can jump inside and play
There’s a hole in daddy’s haircut, I can see it from the floor
But even though there’s less up there I love daddy even more
And when he’s lying on the couch
I can see it even clearer
And daddy tends to make a face
When he sees it in the mirror
And he tried to hide it with a rug
But that rug wouldn’t stay on
So I volunteered to colour it in with my favourite crayon
Oh, there’s a hole in daddy’s haircut, something’s missing way up there
Daddy’s got a grown-up’s case of disappearing hair
There’s a hole in daddy’s haircut, God placed it up above
So that hole in daddy’s haircut, must be filled with love
Yeah, I don’t care much for that hole, it’s daddy that I love
There’s a hole in daddy’s haircut, a hole in daddy’s haircut
Hey Lawdie!

Skippin’ a Stone
© 1994 Robert Davis
Went to the beach one sunny day
Got kind of bored, I was itchin’ to play
But I was all alone
So I started skippin’ a stone
Chorus:
Let’s go! Whip it! Skip it!
Skippin’ a stone
I whipped that stone with all of my might
It skipped to the left, it skipped to the right
Like a metronome
I skipped that stone
Chorus
Skipped it on over the tail of a whale
One day this’ll make a whale of a tale
Get on the telephone
Tell my friends about my skippin’ a stone
Chorus
Skipped it so high it nearly hit the sun
This skippin’ a stone’s a whole lot of fun
Like a dog to a bone, I love skippin’ a stone
Chorus
Skipped it so far, it began to curl
I skipped my stone clear around the world
Across twelve time zones, I skipped that stone
Chorus
Well, my stone was gone, I figured what the heck
Just then that stone hit me in the back of my neck
I think I’m goin’ home, Mama!
No more skippin’ a stone
Repeat chorus twice
Don’t Grow Up
© 1994 Robert Davis
Ba-ba-ba-boom…
You can go to school and learn a thing or two
Climb the highest mountain just for the view
You can raise a sheepdog from a little pup
But whatever you do, don’t grow up
Ba-ba-ba-boom…
You can munch a hotdog, drink soda pop
Scoop yourself a sundae, put a cherry on top
You can order pizza and eat it for your sup
But whatever you do, don’t grow up
Chorus:
Don’t grow up, that’s the last thing to do
Don’t grow up, it’s fun just being you
Don’t grow up, and you’ll always be brand new
Just stay a kid forever, and don’t grow up
Ba-ba-ba-boom…
You can play baseball, hit a home run
Or you can play hockey, now that would be fun
You can sing this song until I yell stop!
But whatever you do, don’t grow up
Ba-ba-ba-boom…
One day you’ll be older with responsibilities
Like taking out the garbage and washing your own jeans
You’ll read the morning paper, drink coffee from a cup
But whatever you do, don’t grow up
Don’t grow up, there’s no point to it at all
Don’t’ grow up, there’s something big in being small
Don’t’ grow up, even if you’re ten feet tall
Just stay a kid forever, and don’t grow up
Don’t grow up, stay exactly as you are
Don’t grow up, just being you will take you far
Don’t grow up, look at the moon, look at the stars
And stay a kid forever, don’t grow up ever
Sleepy Lullaby
© 1995 Robert Davis
Go to sleep already
It’s late, time for beddy
Hold on tightly to your teddy
Let me tuck you in
Wipe the milk from your chin
And I’ll sing to you a sleepy lullaby
If you don’t go to sleep
Mom and I will weep
It’s hard getting by on two hours sleep
If we’re lucky
That’s why I’m moving slowly
Backwards so you’ll go
To sleep to this sleepy lullaby
Lordy please have mercy
Let me out of this here nursery
Oh, for a few minutes to ourselves, if we’re lucky
Just me and your mom
And between us, the intercom
Baby’s first portable phone
We don’t really mind
All the yellin’ and the cryin’
Who needs peace and quiet anyway
Because without you in our home
We wouldn’t need this poem
Or sing to you a sleepy lullaby
Because you’re our little baby
And if you go to sleep well then maybe
We can do it all over again tomorrow night
Go to sleep already
Songs from Get Snappy:
Harry Caterpillar
© 1996 Robert Davis
Harry Caterpillar went out one day
To cross the street to see his friends and play
First, Harry, looked both ways
Though he knew that the trip would take him three whole days
So do you know what Harry did?
Chorus:
He wiggled and he jiggled and he rolled himself over
He wiggled and he jiggled and he rolled himself over
He wiggle, jiggled, rolled himself over
That’s what Harry did
(that’s what he did)
That’s what Harry did.
Well that road was packed with automobiles
And Harry didn’t want to end up a part of their wheels
Up until now he was doing okay
Still no car would give Harry the right of way
So do you know what Harry did?
Chorus
A big dump truck was speeding down the street
Harry’s journey was nearly complete
Harry knew that he’d better act fast
Could it be, golly gee, Harry’s luck wouldn’t last?
“Look out, look out look out! Oh my goodness, boys and girls, really fast now, what did Harry do?”
(fast) Chorus
Harry safely made it across the street
All in one piece with all twelve of his feet
And even though the passersby thought old Harry would surely die
Harry Caterpillar grew up to become a beautiful, colourful and hairless butterfly
But first he had to…
Chorus
When the Geese Wave Goodbye
(Robert Davis)
Sometime late in the summer
You will see a magical sight
Birds in the sky waving goodbye
Engaged in a glorious flight
They're waving goodbye to the summer
They not waiting around for the cold
I watch them as they are leaving
And it leaves me feeling alone
Chorus:
Yes, I see them every summer
I look for that V in the sky
And I always stop to wonder
When the geese wave goodbye
Yes, they're waving goodbye to the summer
They've got warmer places to be
They've made up their minds they're leaving
Once again without me
I watch them as they are soaring
Flying so free and so high
They all seem to know when it's time to go
Into that dusky blue sky
Chorus
No more talking
Just a lot of honking
They just go
They don't like the snow
So wave goodbye to the summer
All good things come to an end
And I'll see you when you're back this way again
Take care of yourself until then
Chorus:
Yes, I'll see you every summer
I'll look for that V in the sky
And I'll always stop to wonder
when the geese wave goodbye
Repeat Chorus

Bags
© 1997 Robert Davis
Chorus:
Bags, bags, got a lot of bags
So much you can do with them so hold onto your bags
Bags for your lunch
Bags for your books
Bags for your gym clothes
Bags for your marbles
And bags for your Oreo’s
Chorus
Bags for candy
Bags for tea
Bags for carrying fruit
Bags for popcorn
And bags for birthday loot
Chorus
Well, I gotta lotta bags to put my stuff in
I gotta lotta stuff to put in my…
Bags made of paper
Bags made of jute
Bags made out of rags
Bags made from recyclables
So there’s gotta be bags made out of bags!
Chorus

Twinkle twinkle traffic light
How you twinkle day and night
First you’re red, then you’re green
Then you’re yellow in-between
Twinkle twinkle traffic light
How you twinkle day and night
Wiggle Waggle Wig

When dogs are happy
They’re a waggin’ their tails
Waggin’ their tails, waggin their tails
When dogs are happy
They’re a waggin’ their tails
A wiggle waggle wiggle waggle wig, wig
A wiggle waggle wiggle waggle wig
When cats are happy they’re a waggin’ their tails…
When horses are happy…
The Days We Have Together
© 1997 Robert Davis
If today could last forever,
Then that is what I’d like it to do
For if I had to choose between tomorrow and today
I would choose today and I would choose you
Chorus:
Because I treasure
The days we have together
The days we have together
Just me and you and you and me
And I’ll remember
The days we have together
The days we have together
just me and you
We can always look forward to tomorrow
And in our hearts look back on yesterday
But you and I just have this day for awhile
So let’s not throw it away
Chorus
Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to You
© 1997 Robert Davis
I never will forget what happened that night
A short while after Daddy turned out the light
It was Christmas Eve but I couldn’t sleep
Thinking ‘bout my presents and my candy to eat
I heard a thump on the roof just over my head
Threw back the covers and I jumped out of bed
And I went downstairs to the Christmas tree
And there was Santa Claus smiling at me and singing
Chorus:
Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to you
He sang Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to you
He sang, Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas to you
He had a long white beard and was dressed in red
He told me ‘bout his reindeer and his flying sled
‘n then he put lots of presents under the tree
And each and every one was addressed to me
Well, before I could thank him he was out of sight
He flew up the chimney back into the night
So I rushed to the window to see where he’d gone
But all I heard was Santa Claus singing this song, he sang
Chorus
Suddenly I woke up in bed
Was Santa real or just all in my head
Then outside my window, I saw reindeer fly by
Then I saw Santa, waving goodbye and singing
Chorus
Five Great Lakes
© 1996 Robert Davis
Chorus:
Five Great Lakes
Five Great Lakes
Do you know the Five Great Lakes
Huron, Michigan, Superior, Ontario…and Erie
Altogether make Five Great Lakes
Which one’s the largest of the Five Great Lakes?
Which one’s the largest of the Five Great Lakes?
Lake Superior is the most exterior
It’s the largest of the Five Great Lakes
Chorus
Now which one’s the smallest of the Five Great Lakes?
Which one’s the smallest of the Five Great Lakes?
Oh I know it’s Ontario
It’s the smallest of the Five Great Lakes
Chorus
Which one’s completely within the United States?
Which one’s completely within the United States?
Well, if you want to fish again in Lake Michigan
It’s the all-American of the Five Great Lakes
Chorus
What makes them so great?
What makes them so great?
Well, I don’t know but I’d sure like to go see
Five Great Lakes, everybody now!
Chorus
I Spell Love
Written by: (c) 2000 Robert Davis
Some spell love l-o-v-e
But I can spell love differently
It's in the way that you define it
I spell love where I find it
I spell love c-a-t
I spell love d-o-g
M-o-m and d-a-d
That's how I spell love
I spell love when I see you
I hope you spell love when you see me too
I spell love with an I and you
That's how I spell love
I spell love with my family
I spell love with my friends
I spell love when I greet the day
And in my prayers at my day's end
I spell love when I see you
I hope you spell love when you see me too
I spell love with an I and you
That's how I spell love
I spell love when I see you
I hope you spell love when you see me too
I spell love with an I and you
That's how I spell love
I spell love with an I and you
That's how I spell love
